Wedding Dresses for 2013 – What’s Hot?

Vera Wang, Monique Ihuillier, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen, the Amsale Collection, Alfred Angelo… names ring a bell? Well, they should – these are some of the biggest designers working on wedding dresses for 2013 in today’s wedding dresses industry.

What’s coming in wedding dresses for 2013?

Color – Who would have ever thought that wedding dresses could come in so many different colors? As seen in the last few years, some brides opt to forgo the traditional white gowns, but now colors are becoming increasingly vibrant. More than color sashes or bows, entire dresses are now in color. Black, red, blue, purple, green, even floral prints – you name it, these fashion designers are showing off their colorful creations on the catwalk. Are you daring enough to wear one?

Lace – Lace is everywhere right now and will continue to be huge in wedding dresses for 2013 especially for those who adore that vintage feel. The look of lace is very classy, romantic and timeless, and will never go out of style. Lace dresses can provide the ultimate glamour…think of Grace Kelly then, and Kate Middleton now. Trends come and go, but even after decades, some things never change.

Peplums – This dress is a short over-skirt or ruffle attached to the waistline and is made in all shapes and sizes, cuts and fabrics. This is hot on the runways and will definitely take the wedding industry by storm. Brides will love how this style defines your waist and camouflages your hips.

Cowl Neck – This one is certainly inspired by Pippa Middleton. You will see many in chiffon or satin that are sexy and fitting to the body. This look is beautiful and has a soft romantic feel.

Sexy Back – The ceremony, your first dance…let’s be honest, your guests will be seeing a lot of your back on the big day! Chances are dresses won’t be as bare as we have seen, but more lace and see-through patterns will make them the sexiest look of the season.

Short – Big on the scene in wedding dresses for 2013 are short, sexy and sassy wedding dresses. They are not just for the reception anymore; many women choose to wear them to the ceremony as well. A long gown can be a major committment and is definitely not for everyone. Short dresses are great because you can show off your legs and a great pair of shoes. They are very popular for beach and destination weddings.

You may be a fan of one, two or all of these styles. You may be bold enough to wear a red wedding dress or a short sexy one. You may be the traditional bride who only will wear white. Once you try on “the dress” it won’t matter if it is a trend setter, show stopper, or just a traditional look…as long as you feel beautiful in it.
